WHY YOU CHOOSE Illuminate Jewellery ?
This piece is finished with a multi-layer protective coating system designed to significantly prevent tarnishing.
Jadau Jewellery is one of the most luxurious and intricate jewellery-making techniques in India. It originated in the royal courts of the Rajasthan and was perfected during the Mughal Empire, which is why Jadau pieces often look very regal and Mughal-inspired.
The word “Jadau” comes from the Hindi word “jadna”, meaning to embed or insert. In this technique, precious or semi-precious stones are embedded into soft gold / silver without using prongs or glue.
A gold framework is first crafted by skilled goldsmiths called Ghaaria.
This framework determines the final shape of the jewellery—Lac Filling: The hollow portions of the jewellery are filled with lac (a natural resin). This lac acts as a base cushion to hold the stones securely.
Uncut gemstones like Polki , ruby , emerald then embedded on the Lac base .
Thin strips of 24K malleable gold are pushed around the stones. The artisan presses and molds the gold so the stones become locked into place.
Finally, the piece is polished and refined to achieve its royal finish.
